Vector Portrait

For the past few weeks we have been
working on vector portraits. I chose a picture of my brother, a guy who means a lot to me. I took the photo in to photo shop and cropped it, then moved it into Adobe Illustrator and picked the basic colors of my brothers face and jacket and made shapes. Then I layered the shapes to get my Vector portrait. Enjoy!

The Cape Escape menu and logo

Hello! This is a menu design with the logo design for
a food truck that sells sea food. It is called the cape escape. Our client who will be
running this asked for a "Cape Cod theme" (where our clients truck will be (cape cod) with a vintage look. With the help of my peers, I as able to create a vintage look with layers in Photoshop. I  also drew the logo and used the pen tool and re-drew over it in Adobe Illustrator. I put the two together, as well as adding the menu items and ta-da! I hope you enjoy!

Graphic design: Zachary's menu

Hello! today's project consisted of putting our
skills in Illustrator. we had to redesign a menu for a restaurant ( as a practice
activity . I used my knowledge of the color wheel, text hierarchy, font styles, and
many more adobe illustrator skill that we have learned to make this menu look
more appealing. The top one is the original, and the bottom one is the version I
                     created. I hope you enjoy!

My Logo

Hello! this is another project we have
been working on. This project entailed sketching out different designs that involve our initials. Since my name is Christian Owens, I used CO. Out of nearly fifty designs, I choose the one of a fox curling up, making my initials in cursive. I scanned in the sketch and traced the design in Adobe Illustrator for the first "Fox". The second one, I changed the colors to a simple black and white, so its more simplistic. For the third one, I brought into Photoshop and gave it some texture and new colors. BAM! This is the result. Hope you enjoy!

Text hierarchy

One thing that I have learned in graphic arts class is the importance of which  words are arranged, or text hierarchy. The size, font, and where each sentence is put impacts how the the piece will turn out. for example, the bigger the words are, the more the eye is drawn to it, that is why news papers have headlines, to grab the readers  attention. Text hierarchy usually has at least three levels. One that grabs the reader, one that briefly explains what it is, and the actual information. You can see this in action with the advertisement I made with the 1939 Buick. It had the tittle, then the motto, then a small description. A prime example of text heiarchy.

Car Ad

This is the advertisement I created using the digital
illustration I created before. I brought over the Illustration of the 1939 Buick, and I put a background of a nice road winding through the mountains. Then, using the Text hierarchy, I put the name of the car, a motto, and some details about the car. I also used different fonts to keep the eye reading, as well as putting the description/motto/tittle. I used tools like the magic wand, the paint bucket, and special effects. I hope you Enjoy!

digital illustration of a Buick 1939

Hello! in this portion of the project, we have been working
on creating digital illustrations of objects to use in ads. I choose the beautiful 1939 Buick. I started building the basic shapes in Adobe illustrator using the pen tool, and put them together. Then, to add more detail, I added reflections and different tints of color to make the car pop out more, and seem more detailed.
